Professor Manuel João Costa
Manuel João Costa is Pro-Rector for pedagogical innovation and student affairs at the University of Minho. In this role, he supervises the university’s center for the development of teaching and learning (Center IDEA-UMINHO), the office for inclusion and the distance learning service. In this role, he interacts with the education bodies of all UMinho schools to enhance teaching, learning and assessment, which will facilitate the dissemination of the project outputs and the development of case studies.
He is Associate Professor and has 14 years of former expertise as Head of the “medical Education Unit” at the medical school, which operates on the advising and developing of faculty concerning all aspects of teaching, learning, and assessment. Since 2022, is a member of the Learning and Teaching Steering Committee of the European Universities Association and of the Education Committee of the Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FBES). Also a member of the Faculty Development Committee of the Association for Medical Education in Europe since 2021. His current position and scientific expertise will facilitate the successful development of this ERASMUS+ project.
