Karl Donert

Karl Donert (Vice President of Eurogeo) is a leading voice in geography and geographical education in Europe. He has expertise in the coordination and management of international projects. Karl was coordinator of the HERODOT University Bologna Process Project and the teaching of Geography in higher education. He is active in European education and policy making as Vice President of the Council of Europe groups on Education and Culture, an elected Fellow of Academia Europea, the European Scientific and Research Academy and is involved in innovative programmes and projects. He has researched and widely published on the use of geotechnology in education and training. 

In 2005, Karl Donert was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship, the highest teaching honour in the UK. Since 2009 he has been adjunct faculty at the University of Salzburg. He specialises in research in education and training, with respect to professional and academic networking, project development and project management. Karl is aa European expert in learning and teaching and in the use of ICT and digital media in education. He acts as a consultant to many organisations, working in this context raise the profile and quality of learning and teaching activities as well as research. He has participated in more than 100 international projects mainly concerned with the innovative uses of technologies, geo-media and open education.  He has published more than 200 chapters, books and peer reviewed articles.
